About us
We are a new society founded in Michaelmas 2022 dedicated to the practice of geocaching. While we are a University of Cambridge society, membership is free and open to anyone interested (eg ARU).
What is geocaching?
There are millions of containers in all shapes and sizes hidden just about everywhere, with their coordinates posted on https://www.geocaching.com/. They all contain at least a logbook that you can sign, and many contain items for trade (SWAG). Some require solving puzzles or completing multiple stages.
Our Activities
Our activities consist of geocaching expeditions in which we will attempt a large series (or multiple simultaneously depending on group sizes), either around Cambridge or further afield. There are also plans to collaboratively organise and maintain society owned caches, as well as purely social events.
Getting Involved
The easiest way to get involed is to join the discord, which can be done with the link or widget above. This functions as a social space where people can share their experiences geocaching and share tips/ask for advice. Events will also be announced here in the most timely manner. It is also by far the easiest way to express your interest in events, as the alternative is email.
You can also subscribe to the mailing list here or by contacting a committee member. Emails will be sent out with any events or important news.
